Of all the woman/girl Disney characters Alice is one that I never identified with growing up. Maybe its because she’s a younger sibling and I’m the oldest or because I thought she was just a bit stupid. Sure the other characters do silly things but the constant madness of Alice’s adventure wound me up. Then someone pointed out to me that Alice doesn’t have a love interest. Nor does she have any specific dreams for her life. And then it all made sense. All the other disney females have a desire to be loved and/or a hope for the future. Alice doesn’t give a crap.
I should be more of an Alice in life.
My very first tattoo, the Cheshire Cat’s face on my foot.
When I was all about 3 my mom had painted my old room Alice in Wonderland because she had said I looked like Alice in the wold books, so that was her inspiration.
She painted EVERY character from the bread and butterflies, to the talking flowers, to the king, all except for Alice herself. Upon asking her one day: “Mom, where’s Alice?” She responded with a smile “You’re Alice.” And since then I’ve always been known as “The Alice girl”.
Alice is so near and dear to my heart I will NEVER regret this tattoo. I plan on getting a pocket watch on my foot, next!

- The Cat: Then it doesn't much matter which way you go.
- Alice: …so long as I get somewhere.
- The Cat: Oh, you're sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.
